Job Purpose and Responsibilities

Job Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Location: Mid & South Essex                                                                                                               

Reports to: Volunteer Manager

Salary: £21,918 (F.T.E. £27,397.50)

Job Type: Part-Time, Permanent (30 hours per week)

As Volunteer Coordinator, you will help ensure every volunteer feels valued, supported, and inspired, so that together we can make a real difference in the lives of the people we support.

 

Your new role:

In this role, you will coordinate and enhance Hamelin’s volunteer programme, supporting all aspects of recruitment, onboarding, and volunteer engagement. Working closely with the Volunteer Manager, you will ensure that volunteers receive the best possible experience and are equipped to make a meaningful contribution to our services.

About You:

Essential:

  • Proven experience supporting and coordinating volunteers.
  • Strong administrative and IT skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Empathy and understanding of volunteer needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Confidentiality and sensitivity when handling information.
  • A full, valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Flexibility to travel across Essex as required.

 

Desirable:

  • Experience working within a charity or non-profit setting.
  • Links with local community services.
  • Knowledge of local networks and stakeholders.
